If you are a graduate of UAH, you are eligible for Library privileges at no cost. These privileges allow you to check out up to 5 items at a time for a period of 28 days at a time. In order to receive these privileges you must present, at the Circulation Desk, either an Alumni Card or a photocopy of your diploma, along with a picture I.D. and proof of address. Please visit the Library Catalog and log in as a Guest to locate books you would like to check out.
The Salmon Library welcomes all graduates back to use our resources on-site. Internet access computer terminals are available in our electronic library wing which opened in 2001. Printing from these terminals is 10¢/page for black & white or $1.00/page for color. Print cards are accepted only, and are available at both the Circulation and Reference desks. While at the library, alumni may access content from any of our premium Online Databases, or may use the Super Search feature available on the Library homepage to search up to 15 databases simultaneously. Due to licensing issues, off-campus use of our electronic resources is restricted to current UAH students, faculty, and staff.
The Alabama Virtual Library provides all citizens of Alabama with online access to a variety of information resources. All UAH alumni who reside in the state of Alabama may access AVL databases free of charge. To access AVL from home, visit your local public library to request a remote access card. Please see the list of AVL Database Descriptions for more information.
The Salmon Library encourages all UAH alumni to make use of our Reference Services. Please feel free to stop by the reference desk during our regular hours. While conducting research from off-campus, you may request assistance by calling us at (256) 824-6529 or filling out our Email Reference Form. The UAH Career Services office provides alumni with several career planning tools and resources. They also maintain a list of job postings which are fully available upon registration. Recent graduates may find these services especially helpful.
